Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence is set to direct Netflix's film adaption of the video game franchise BioShock, with Michael Green adapting the script, according to Deadline.
In February, Netflix partnered with video game holding company Take-Two Interactive and its game publisher subsidiary 2K to produce a BioShock film.
Since spring, the studio has sought after Lawrence since he has demonstrated the ability at adapting popular IP into global hits, like the Hunger Games series.
Lawrence is currently directing the prequel, Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which will premiere in 2023.
The plan is for Michael Green to adapt the BioShock script and, once Lawrence has wrapped, he can jump straight into pre-production.
