On Wednesday, former US President Donald Trump invoked his Fifth Amendment rights and declined to answer questions from the New York attorney general.

In 2019, an investigation was launched against the Trump Organization for misrepresented the value of assets in order to obtain favorable loans and tax breaks.
The former president invoked the Fifth Amendment, which prevents anyone from being forced to testify against themselves in a criminal prosecution.
The alleged fraud is said to have occurred prior to Mr. Trump inauguration.

In February, a New York Supreme Court judge ruled that Mr. Trump and two of his children must sit for depositions. Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr were questioned earlier this month.
