Last week, Lions Not Sheep was fined $211,335 after the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) found the company replacing "Made in China" tags with "Made in the USA" labels.
The company's website states it purchases blank apparel from suppliers in China, Colombia, and Bangladesh, and ships it to the US for printing, embroidery and tagging.
The owner of Lions Not Sheep, Sean Whalen had apparently posted a video to social media, where he claim he could conceal the origin of his shirts.
Whalen removed tags that disclosed where the products were made, replacing "Made in China" tags with "Made in the USA" labels, according to the FTC complaint.
Lions Not Sheep must now demonstrate that their product's final assembly or processing takes place in the US before claiming to sell American-made clothing.
