On Tuesday, Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for helping the financier Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse underage girls.
Over a period of 17 years, numerous women have accused Epstein of abusing them and several name Maxwell as the recruiter.
They described how Maxwell convinced them with gifts and promises that Epstein could use his wealth and connections to fulfill their dreams.
In December, a jury found Maxwell guilty of sex trafficking, transporting a minor to engage in illicit sex acts and two conspiracy charges.
Epstein pleaded guilty to sex charges in Florida and served 13 months in jail awaiting trial, before he killed himself in 2019.
