Five states, including Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri and South Dakota have banned abortions following the Supreme Court's reversal of Roe v. Wade.
These states have "trigger bans" in place that can immediately go into effect if the right conditions are met, such as allow states to enact their own abortion laws.
Eight more states, including Idaho, Mississippi, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming, also have abortion bans ready after being certified by a state official.
Six other states, including Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, South Carolina and West Virginia are also expected ban abortions shortly.
10 states are undecided and depends on the result of this fall's midterm elections.
The 20 remaining states have already codified the right to abortion into their state's constitution or are expected to keep the procedure legal.
