Residents of Odessa, Texas, had a water system failure which left them without water for days in the scorching heat.
On Monday, Taps in 165,000 homes and businesses lost pressure and went dry after a 24-inch (61-centimeter) main broke.
The city is located around 530 kilometers (330 miles) west of Dallas.
The city intends to distribute water to residents at Ector County Coliseum and deliver water to nursing homes.
Water tanks are strategically positioned across the city in the event of any fires.
On Wednesday, Odessa's water treatment facility was back online around 8 a.m.
However, the facility required 12-14 more hours to finish maintenance to make sure there are no more leaks.
On Wednesday, Odessa had temperatures close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius).
