On Friday, Justin Bieber revealed on Instagram that he has been diagnosed with the viral infection Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which has paralyzed half of his face.
Because of the infection, Bieber has said that he would have to cancel a series of shows until his right half of his face regains mobility.
It's unclear how Bieber contracted the virus.
"As you can probably see from my face, I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome," he says in the video. "As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can't smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move, so there's full paralysis on this side of my face."

According to the National Organization for Rare Disorders, the condition affects roughly 5 out of every 100,000 persons in the United States each year.
