President Joe Biden has pledged to have 500,000 public charging stations for electric automobiles by 2030.
Over the next five years, the government will provide states more than $5 billion to establish a network of charging stations throughout the nation's interstates.

A charging station must be positioned every 50 miles along the interstate and no more than a mile off the roadway, according to the proposed regulations.
